Fashionista on… Giving yourself a daily boost
Most of us will pull out the stops for a special occasion, either by putting on a glamorous dress or opting for a stylish ‘up do’. However, looking our best can sometimes involve a lot of preparation, powder, paintwork and preening – and seem like a lot of effort.
With that in mind, here are a few low-maintenance fashion ideas, ideal for everyday:
From slummy mummy to yummy mummy… teaming boot-cut jeans with a belted-coat makes a great casual look; far more flattering than the ever-popular baggy sweatshirt and jogging bottoms combo, but just as practical for the school run.
From bingo wings to statement rings… lacking the toned upper arms of your younger self (aren’t we all...)? Try a three-quarter-sleeve top in elegant black, navy or purple teamed with statement jewellery. A large cocktail ring or chunky bangles add instant wow.
From feeling flat to walking tall… when it comes to your feet and ankles, there’s no need to sacrifice comfort for style. Simply stash your kitten heels at work and change into them when you get there. If trainers aren’t your thing, try flat boots or even a pair of brogues.
Don’t be afraid to experiment – it could give you an instant lift.

Mrs Motivation: For nights out in heels, I always pack those fold-up pumps or ballet slippers in my handbag; brilliant.
Foodie: I have those too.
Fitness Fan: A lot of it is a mind-set thing – making yourself take the stairs instead of the lift - until it becomes a habit.
